Deaf Wish

Deaf Wish made their mark in small, dedicated circles of the Melbourne underground via a bright green cdrs which found their way around town during the winter of 2007.  They were are ramshackle unit of strangers limping out of the wreck of their breaken-down bands and needing something quick.  The debut l.p was made and the band dissapeared.  Max Kohane (Agents Of Abhorrence, Brainchildren), described the album as Wipers and Husker Du in a sexy death dance while Sonic Youth and Black Flag sit in the corner masturbating" and went on to re-issue a release on his grind label Idget Child. Deaf Wish re-formed with a new member to honour the release and the response was overwhelming. Within the next 12 months, the band played with Jay Reatard and No Age.

The nature of the new line-up had shifted the sound into something more masculine and twisted in the absence of founding member Sarah Hardiman, whom still resides in the UK.  The new Deaf Wish entity was messier and meaner than before but maintained its raw emotion and acerbic wit.
